Fernweh Forest

Youth and Family Therapy

Fernweh Forest provides nature, adventure, and body based therapeutic outpatient services to individuals, youth, and families.

At Fernweh Forest we go beyond traditional therapy. Together we can tap into your natural capacity for growth, healing, and transformation.

Why Fernweh forest
Fernweh Forest seeks to guide clients to reconnect with their inner wisdom and resilience through body awareness, adventure, and contact with nature.

We believe in the depth and power of shared experience, holistic healing, and nature connection. With Fernweh Forest, you and your family can take the therapeutic experience outside, utilizing nature, adventure, and body-based interventions to increase connection with the whole self (mind/body/spirit), each other, and the earth, inspiring problem solving though challenge and exploring emotions. Life is messy. Let us support you and your family in navigating the hard stuff.

Fernweh Forest provides holistic and experiential therapeutic outpatient services to individuals, youth, and families. We believe in a systemic approach to wellness using a gestalt and humanistic lens. We specialize in Adventure Therapy, Ecotherapy, and Somatic Therapy.

Adventure

Adventure therapy generates faster results that last longer than any other kind of therapy. The active creativity and problem solving/planning involved in AT takes one out of a trauma response.

Eco

Ecotherapy is an interplay of nature and psyche. Positive connection can exert positive influences. We can look to the natural universe for this regenerating and nurturing connection.

Somatic

Somatic therapy is holistic and body-based. It focuses on releasing trauma housed in the body, regulating the nervous system, and building skills in awareness and present moment focus.

Family Therapy

Quality therapy focused on the needs of the family and the individual.

Nature exposure is associated with nervous system regulation, lower stress, rapid healing, lower physical illness, enhance mood, decreased heart rate and blood pressure, and creates positive effects on neuronal growth, stress, concentration, and self-esteem. Through utilization of nature and adventure therapies the holistic integration of mind, body, spirit, and place, coupled with the kinesthetic cognitive, affective, and behavioral engagement provides clients and clinicians a platform to increase resiliency, healing, growth, and connection.

Life is messy. Let us help.
